The idea
for this blog came from the continuous suggestions of friends to,"do
something with all of these pictures." I also have been intrigued by all
of the interest folks here seem to have about Raleigh's past and how it relates
to the present.

So,
every week (or more often) I will post a short piece on something of interest
around our town. Being a Raleigh native of 62 years I will also have some
memories to share. Suggestions and comments are invited. Welcome and enjoy.

The photographs are beautiful. My sister, Gay Shaver, was one of the 151 arrested at the protest on June 3, 2013.
